Red spot on tail

Hi

Today I noticed Falkor has a red dot on his tail and was wondering if you guys had a better idea of what it was? I thought he'd maybe cut it on decoration on his tank, although this would be the first time that would have happened since I got him around 9 months ago. I tested the water. Levels and temperature are both perfect. He's eating and otherwise looks in perfect condition. If it is a cut, should I just monitor it to see if it gets any worse and make sure the water's always clean?

Ouch. That looks like it hurt.

Hopefully it is just a cut, because of so, it will probably heal just fine with exactly what you propose - keeping the water clean.
