Red Wigglers?

Ok I have red wigglers or red worms or whatever you want to call them. I know a lot of animals don't accept them as food because of a yellow discharge; however, my axolotl loves them! He would eat them all day if I let him. They are a lot more convenient than earthworms because of their size. Is their nutritional value about the same as eartworms? And are they a good staple?

Hmm well they didn't rate them very well but I believe it is because most animals will not eat them. Since my axolotl does eat them are they good? It says that are nutritious.

Yea but are they as good as earthworms or bloodworms? My axie will eat bloodworms and red worms but he WON'T eat earthworms even when I cut them into little pieces for him. He also eats pellets (if individually fed) and frozen krill and his occasional beefheart. He also doesn't eat waxworms unless I cut them in half. Stupid spoiled brat. lol.

In terms of nutrition, I think they are probably just as good. If you use them regularly, you might want to consider gutloading them (or really gut-unloading them of whatever crud they were raised in), as they tend to be farm raised in manure.

Eww thats pretty gross. Maybe I will start breeding them. Won't be that hard because they are so small.
