Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone knows this product and has already used it in an Axolotl tank. The product claims to be a natural and safe antioxidant, but I have found absolutely nothing in my research regarding its use with amphibians.

I'm having a small problem with green cyanobacteria forming on the sand substrate, I believe the cause is the little water movement, the filtration is oversized, there are 2 Eheim 2213 canisters connected in series, the first being just for mechanical filtration and the second for biological and chemical (Purigen), the first I open and wash the sponges quite often (15 days), I still have a 34W UV filter and a Chihiros Doctor.

Before adding the second canister and the chihiros I had problems with a slime that formed by the aquarium and clogged the filter, I believe it was bacteria, due to little water movement, after these additions, this problem was solved, but this cyanobacteria persists , even doing weekly tpa, I found this product that says it helps in the fight against them, so that's why my question.

Thanks.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
