I recently went to canadian tire and bought lepage-regular epoxy glue to fix the side of my tank's cracked side my dad insists that he can fix it with duct tape or some kind of special tape, but he has been sayiong he will fixe it for about a week and hasn't gotten around to it so I went to canadian tire and asked a person there what I should use and he said that this stuff is the best the have for glass on th back it's rated best on the glass part of chart wich is 3/3 stars, so I am just wondering if this would be appropriate to use I have a long-toed salamander he is a fully terrestrial salmander, the tank would not be filled with water then, and it will be kep fairly dark/cold/moist. so please reply asap someone! I canno't fix the tank till tommorow and I have to wait for the glue stuff to dry for 90 mins and then leave it undisturbed for 24hours, well sorry about the long post here are some pictures the red line is the crack(s) (i can jiggle the glass without it falling out it's pretty secure)

Fixing a tank can sometimes be more of a hassle than it is worth. However, there's always that old adage "waste not, want not" that nags in the back of the head. So, with all that said:

epoxies grows brittle over time, and don't create as good of a bond on smooth surfaces.

I would recommend a %100 silicone.

you want to be certain there are no sharp edges when you are done.

Also, once a tank is cracked, it has lost a good deal of its physical integrity, so you must be careful how much you put in it. I personally wouldn't trust it for any kind of aquatic or 50/50 setup, but it would be fine for something terrestrial.
