If you receive any private message (or e-mail sent out through the contact system of Caudata.org), and you feel that the message is weird, offensive, or may violate our Terms of Use, please send a copy to any of the site mods/admins.

While we have no intention to police what happens via PM, we want to ensure that the message system is not used for advertising, or to solicit wild-caught animals, for example.

I have also added a clause regarding weird Private Messages and general use of the Private Messaging system to the forum rules (which are linked on the bottom of each page).

There is also a clause describing the (ab)use of the English that's becoming prevalent around the site. You are directed to read the updated rules and be sure you are acquainted with them:

I actively encourage users to disapprove messages from native English speakers who insist on using nonsense and slang words repeatedly. You can do this by clicking on the scales icon in the lower left corner of each message on the forum.

John,

I agree with the fact that you disapprove slang words in messages, but please don't forget there are many people here who don't speak English as motherlanguage, myself for example!

I do my best, but it's possible I make some stupid mistakes with the grammar. That doesn't mean my intentions are bad. So only dissaprove slang, and PM the people who make mistakes with their grammar. You can only learn when you know what you do wrong, isn't it?

thanks!

Thank you for your message Rob. I think if you read the forum rules (linked at the bottom of every page) you will see that they are aimed primarly at native English speakers, who naturally are the ones using slang and such. The reason given in the rules is that this rule is for people like you who are not native English speakers - we're trying to make life easier for you.
