Ok, so i know you reproduce it by planting pieces of it. My question is, how does the piece have to be to survive???
 
"how does the piece have to survive"???? what does that mean. I think I know what you are trying to say though, do you mean what needs to be done to keep the newly planted piece alive? Just keep doing what you are doing, give them about 10 hours of light a day and the newly planted elodea will grow.
 
i actually meant how do you have to cut the piece so that it´s able to grow...i mean...do you need to cut at least 5 cm long pieces?? or only pieces that contain growing nodals??after cutting, will the remaining plant die??
 
i think what he's reffering to is cloning. it's a pretty easy process.

ya, just cut the new buds 3cm at the least they should grow fine with enough light
