Hi there.I have recently rescued two grey Axolotls. They are both very very thin and not very active. They have been poorly looked after and only fed when the person remembered.Their gills are only little stumps.I did manage to get them to eat some earthworms.
I have had Axolotls in the past so know how to care for them.I was wondering if any one could suggest the best food for a speedy recovery.
I have bloodworm, pellets and earth worms.
thankyou for your help.
will try and post photos.

For the sake of packing on some weight to malnourished animals, you might want to try your luck with wax worms. Definitely not as a staple, but rather in addition to the earthworms [from what I've read they are actually the 'perfect' meal for axies] that you're already providing.

Kudos to you for taking them in. Please keep us updated on their progress.

Thankyou.I had heard of wax worms.I will give them a go.I will keep you posted.
I could not belive the state they were in when i got them.
I will try and post photos

Aw, poor little guys. Hopefully someone else will chime in with an opinion on my suggestion of wax worms, as I'm still relatively new to axolotls and based my recommendation of what I've read in other posts.

Again, best of luck.
