Hi -

So I think this would be the correct discussion board. I am writing a management plan for Pseudacris ornata as a capstone project (region based North Carolina, USA). I am looking for prices for part of the plan to help determine the economic cost if the species became extirpated from the region, however I am having a hard time finding them, or similar species such as P. streckeri, P. nigrita, P. brimleyi, Hyla crucifer or Limnaoedus ocularis. These have varying levels of similarity but I have seen them listed as surrogates in a couple of different papers and so they have the potential to be surrogates here for price.

And so I was wondering if anyone here had any resources they could point me in the direction of to aid the price determination.

Thanks!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
