Hi! I want to ask if the riccardia plant (moss like plant) is safe for newts. Thanks for any answers

Is safe (any plant is safe, except for carnivorous plants), but it requires good light and grows slowly.

Thank you for the responses! I would like to ask one more thing: Is it ok to use special substrate for plants (like Sera FloraDepot or TetraPlant CompleteSubstrate) in an aquarium with newts or would it harm them??

Thank you very much
Emmanouela

It won't harm them, substrates are made to work with animals keeping them alive :)
Of course Riccardia would not take any benefits from substrates, as it is an "epiphyte" plant.
I personally use garden soil under the gravel and newts are doing very well and breeding too.
