Has anyone tried feeding rice flour beetles to their terrestrial FBs? I have 4 FB's that morphed alittle over a year ago. None show any signs of beeing ready to move to water. I've been feeding them fruitflies, but am worried about that the 2 "runts" aren't getting enough food-both are still under 2 inches:( Bean beetles seem a little too big. Any thoughts?

I always found the flour beetle larva to be the preferred food. Ive seen numerous critters spit out the beetle. I usually use a small seive and fine forceps to pluck out larva and put in a shallow dish. Most seem to love them.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
