Question: Safe plants?

I am planning on getting a couple more c.orientalis and want to get a 27gallon tank.

The tank is relatively cheap and is at a local Petsmart, I was hoping to get some live plants as well, possibly from www.liveaquaria.com.

My main questions are whether or not the plants I want are safe for c.orientalis and how many extra newts I can house in the tank I plan to buy. (I currently have 1 c.orientalis)

Here is the list of plants with pictures attached.

1)Dwarf Baby Tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides)

2)Micro Sword (Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae)

3)Radican Sword (Echinodorus cordifolius)

I can't imagine how any of those plants would harm the newts. I might avoid #1 and #2 though. When I have trouble finding my newt I worry it somehow made it out of the tank, it would be easy for it to dissapeat in the dwarf baby tears and microsword.

You can also get artificial plants, as long as the edges are not sharp and it is labled aquarium safe. It is not a good idea to leave a tank with fire bellies anyplace where it gets direct sunlight.

I have no personal experience with those particular plants however with that said the lower temperatures required by newts do not always bode well for many tropical plant species. Also, the higher light requirements of many aquatic plants may not be appreciated by the newts. If these plants grow well at lower temperatures and subdued lighting then they will certainly be safe for your animals.

Today I might be going out to get my plants so I'll try to look for low temperature and lower lighting ones. I'll keep an eye out for less dense plants to put in so that I don't have troubles finding my newts.
