Hi.
l’ve had problems in my axolotl tank and algae for so long that I’m pulling my hair out now. I’ve found that putting a lot of floating plants along with some other low light demanding plants really does make the algae suffer. However the plants only really slow it down, and this blackbeard algae is still persistent.
I think I’ve found the cause for this algae to still be thriving. While all the standard water parameters are spot on, the phosphate levels are through the roof. I can’t find any natural way of lowering the phosphate without more water changes or chemicals. Does anyone know a way I can tackle this?
Many thanks in advanc.
