Salamander Length?

I've recenctly aquired two Fire Salamanders. One is about 12cm long, the other 13cm. I've heard that there are many different variations of the Fire Salamander spread across their range, and that some grow bigger than others, but I have no idea what kind my Fire Salamanders are. So please if you know, tell me which kind they are, and how big they will get, or whether they won't grow anymore. You'd be helping me out a lot.

Sorry Andy, can't get the pics small enough. But I can give a description though. My Sals, are black and yellow/orange in colour, with about 70% of their skin coloured orange. They have a distinct arrowhead shape on their head, which is coloured black, and two orange parallel lines which originate from the head, which is mostly orange, and run down to the tail, where they meet. Their belly is orange, but their sides are black. Their feet are about half and half. I would say from looking at the guide that they are similar to S. s. terrestris, though they have a lot more orange colouration, and a more defined arrowhead shape on their head.

Certainly sounds like a nice animal, Elliot. There are a few people on this site with far more experience than me when it comes to Salamandra. Hopefully they can chime in...a picture sure would help though.

Thanks for your help Andy. From what I've heard and seen, I think I'll settle on them being terrestris. I'll try and get some pics up as soon as I can.

Finally managed to get one up. This is one of larger sal.

LOL, Elliot, no problem. For the record it looks like a nicely coloured Terrestris to me.
