Salamandra salamandra gigliolli

Well, long awaited and ready to show these beauties off to the world, here are a few pictures of my newly recieved gigliolli. Far from adults as advertised but still gloriously stunning.
These are from Calabria, and will turn a solid yellow with age.

I believe this one is the male of the pair, showing a slightly swollen cloaca.

These two pictures are the same animal, but being my favorite had to show my two favorite photos of her. She is already quite yellow compared to her mate, and will most likely be the first to turn solid yellow.

They look about 2 years old, and at the moment are about 10cm, roughly 4". Adult size is expected to be 6-8".

Few gigliolli are solid yellow and I don't think yours will "become" much more yellow than they are now. They are beautiful animals though - good luck with them and I hope they breed for you.

there isn't really a hell of a lot of info out there about gigliolli. I couldn't find any info about life span, size, etc, I have had to ask people who breed and keep these for any info. On the up side though, there are quite a few very nice pictures of this species.

I was hoping these would turn more yellow, particulary the first one as it reminds me of a chunky built salamandra! Here is hoping anyway.

Lovely sals Aimee! If I had the room, I am sure I would have some by now.... How large is your setup for the 2 adults?

Well at the moment these two are being kept together in a large size contico box. When they grow a little bigger, I shall move them into a bigger box with a more elaborate setup.
They are both sexually mature, and my age guess was wrong. These two are both about 3 years old, just have not grown much to fit the normal adult size at that age, but with regular feeding they will grow to be bigger.
Still reeling with amazement at how gorgeous they are
