Salt bathing & fridging.

So my little guy has a fungus in his gills, nothing too major and starting baths today. I was just curious if I can salt bath him and put him in the tank rather than fridge him? My mother cooks from home so all 3 fridges are full and I'm not allowed to adjust it any lower. His tank today, and the past few days is sitting at 17 degrees.

Also I know that heat causes fungus but my tank has not reached over 21 degrees in weeks.. Could fluctuating temps between 17-21 cause a fungus too? The change isn't quick it's like a degree a day fluctuation

You don't need to fridge your axie to do salt baths, just take him out of the tank, salt bathe him at room temp, rinse him and put him back.

Fungus is more common in warmer tanks, but I doubt the fluctuations are causing it. It's more likely to be an injury to his gills. Almond leaves are supposed to help prevent fungus, you could try a couple in the tank.

Rinse him? Like put him in another tub of treated water before putting him back in the tank?

Oops I've just put him straight in his tank from his salt bath

I catch mine in tub A, transfer them to salt bath in tub B, transfer back to tub A, then back into the tank. It's only because I don't trust myself carring a live wriggly axie across the room in my hands, and I guess it doesn't really matter if a little bit of salt gets into a 100L+ tank!
