Here is a video I made with flash at night, I had been holding the phone up close on previous videos but as soon as the salamanders saw the light they would take cover. I was playing around earlier and started holding the phone further away and using zoom but with the flash, that way the salamanders dont notice me as much and I can get up close footage of night action. It shows how the two species interact and coexist with eachother, I got upclose 1080p hd footage of my salamanders and they didn't even notice me. This last 12 minutes but you won't regret watching the whole thing, the best comes last :)

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
