Semi aquatic setup

hey everyone. I have an exo terra terrarium that is 45 cm *45 cm* 45 cm. I had a salamandra salamandra, and a white's tree frog. I had a waterfall but the salamander couldnt access it. I had the idea to make a pond in the tank. I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of plexiglass that was 18 inches by 3 inches. I used marina black silicone to glue to to both sides at a diagonal angle. I glued it last evening and i am going to check on it now, then i have to refill the terestrial side with husk and other side with water. I hope this works out. Any comments or suggestions?

I am not sure that setup would be ideal for either, in fact, housing both amphibians together would not be reccomended at all, especially in the case of one being a tropical frog, and neither one needing a "pond".

Sorry to be a messenger of bad news, but that tank, cleaned out and used for newts would be an ideal setup for some species.

The other thing you'll find out before too long is that silicone doesn't seal to plexiglass. It might hold for a while beings that the other side is reinforced with substrate, but chances are you will develop a leak at some time.

Jeff has the right of this. A tropical frog and a cool climate salamander are not compatible housemates. It's time for a rethink, Daniel for the animals' sakes.

like a lot of newbies, i guess that's not what he wanted to hear. hahaha
