Back in October I broke down at the NARBC reptile show in Illinois and took home a group of 5 golden Mantella (mantella aurantiaca) froglets. They were really tiny and I paid more than I wanted too, but it is one of my top two favorite frog species. So long story longer I isolated them in a small aquaria to monitor their health and to set-up a 20L 30X12X12 natural terrarium for them. So they are doing great and I wanted to share my set-up process for their habitat.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
