Well well, looks like that tiger might be morphing afterall eh?
Yes, as sals approach metamorphoses, they will begin some heavy skin shedding. Neotenic sals shed too, but you metamorphosing sals will do it very noticeably and very often. You'll see bits hanging off of them, etc.
Just an update on my tigers appearance:
gills nearly gone just small nubs now,no tail fin left and darker blotches of colour on the end of its tail.Head has become rounder and still eating. Its fascinating to watch, such an incredible transformation
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
