Is shipping safe for a subadult newt that has nearly--but not quite fully--resorbed gills?
Some of my subadult Alpines have taken awhile to resorb their gills. Some have only nubs and no feathery gill, and some have just a little bit of feathery gill left--only a short "branch" or so.
Others have quite a bit of gill left, and I imagine these animals wouldn't be safe at all if shipped?
Thank you in advance. I'd like to move some of these newts before the ban--but only if doing so is safe for them.
