My ambystoma larva recently morphed so I moved it to a terrestrial setup. I have a hiding cave in there. I heard that salamanders don't like light but if that is the case then you can't even see anything in the tank because it is in a corner. I could even try to grow some plants in there if there is light. Any advice for what I should do? Thanks

Here are some pictures of the setup with light. The light could also be a blueish night mode btw.

The option is totally up to you. You can have a light so you can see it or you can have no light, you can have one as strong as you wants as long as it’s is still rated for that size aquarium. Only have it on for max 12 hrs a day they need a near pitch black night time.

P.S. can we get a photo of the Ambystomas?Im curious the species!

Here it is! I was told and thought that it was a spotted salamander when it was a larva but idk now since it doesn't have spots at the moment. I have also heard that some spotted salamanders gain spots a while after metamorphosis. So I really don't know currently. It is 2 inches long at the moment.

I also made a few posts of it when it was a larval in my profile

It could definitely and most likely an A maculatum but could also be a Jefferson’s salamander. Latter is probably not the case. His tank looks great!
