some axolotls are hardier than others, also some display symptoms where as other don't until too late.
have both treated, use 100% holtfreters + 0.2g/l magnesium sulphate, reduce to 50% holtfreters + 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate when there is signs of improvement (this can be done in tank), 10min methylene blue bath (half fish dose).
what are you tank parameters? ie.. temperature, ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, kh gh if possible.
which nitrogen compound was high?
holtfreters info.. Axolotls - Requirements & Water Conditions in Captivity

Hi thanks for the help i also have an update on my other axi (albino) which has started to display pink patches on its tales and legs which has never been displayed before and when in the take was having rapid movement almost like it was irritated and was trying to climb out so i also removed it and placed it into a separate container with fresh clean water.

As for the nitrate levels im not sure how high it was just that it was high ( got the water tested at a pet store yesterday ) and everything else like PH ect was fine but sense my other axi started displaying symptoms of sickness well after everything was changed so im even more dumbfounded than before sense i suspect something more is at play

(also i have a 20 gallon tank)

the salt in holtfreters helps protect against ammonia and also aids in recovery, the chlorides offer protection against high nitrites and nitrates, the minerals are essential minerals, 100% is for medicative and recovery, 50% is recovery and protection as well as balancing the water for health.
the methylene blue is for treatment of nitrite and nitrate toxicosis, high ammonia causes caustic burns etc.. high nitrites and nitrates effect the blood restricting it's ability to transport oxygen (nitrites in this respect can be worse than either ammonia or nitrates because of this) this is the same as poisoning, methyline blue combats and helps to reverse this issue.

Ok thank you

Should I put everything in the tank and let it run or put them in the tank with everything

If i shouldn’t put them in before the chems how long should i have everything run for?

if the water parameters are correct then holtfreters can be added to the tank and they can be kept in the tank, holtfreters (plus magnesium sulphate) is not harmful to the tank, your axolotls will need to be taken out to do methyline blue baths as methyline blue will damage the biological filtration.
get yourself a liquid freshwater masters testing kit so you can test the water yourself rather than have to get a pet shop do it for you, API is the most popular brand, kh and gh are important for axolotls but have to be brought separately.
even with holtfreters the tank water will still need changing weekly to keep on top of the nitrates, the percentage of water changed is the percentage of nitrates removed, 50% max to limit any interference to the biological filtration, if the nitrates are very high do a 50% water change every other day until they are back under control.
it is a good idea to use some bottled bacteria after doing a filter clean (can also be done after a large water change)

Okay thanks and do you know where I can pick all this up im having trouble finding it all in stores

non-iodised salt ie.. marine, himalayan, halite etc.. found in most shops, magnesium sulphate (epsom salt) pure non-flavoured/scented available in shops/pharmacies, potassium chloride and calcium chloride may be available through pharmacies, bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) available in most shops, all ingredients should be available online ie.. ebay/amazon etc..
methylene blue is normally available via petshops.
