bill hasn't eaten properly for about a month, he tries occassionally but seems uninterested and just spits it out.
He's been floating for a long time now, i've had him in the fridge for a few days, when i put him back in his tank he stays at the surface, hanging onto the compossors for support, his water temps fine is at about 20 degrees, his ammonia is 0 and his pH is 6.8.
i am confused cos usually he loves feeding time, also he hasn't seemed to lose any weight as yet.
is he ok????

he isn't bloated and the gravel is very small and fine. if there was any gravel in his system it would have came out when he was in the fridge. he has no signs of stress, no peeling skin or shrinking gills.
Thanks

Just read your messages wish I could help mines sick to not eating but i'm new to this stuff I hope Bill is ok !Good Luck

Sometimes they go off food for various reasons (or no reason at all!). I've had them go off food for over a month. I wouldn't worry until he starts to lose significant amounts of weight. Just keep offering food.

The floating is a bad thing though. The reasons could be temperature (although 20C isn't that high), or stress. Is there a lot of flow in the tank? When's the last time Bill pooed? I would keep him in the fridge until he has pooed properly and is no longer floating.

he hasn't pooed for a while now, but we figured that he wouldnt because he hasn't eaten anything... he constantly has his mouth out of water aswell...
we'll just keep trying and hopefully he will start eating again.

btw, he isn't showing any signs of stress, the water flow isn't very high... its been the same since he was first put in the tank, about 4-5months now

he's stopped floating now, so thats alright, but he still hasn't started to eat. we've offered him worms, fish and pellets... how long do they usually go off food? He is starting to get skinny now, he also seems kinda weak.

youd wana get some axie treats out now to try and tempt him, beefheart, mealworms (heads off!), daphnia if hes smaller, bloodworms etc. bacially anything with a very strong smell. good luck and i hope he starts eating soon!
