Hi there,
I recently bought a new axolotl (wich I think is copper type?) and it appears to have white stuff on it. I wanted to know if I should be worried or if it's just his colour.

I'm definitely not an expert at all, but if you shine a light on the spots, do they reflect back? My axies have several lighter spots that are reflective, and when I first joined I came with a similar question, (although it was yellowish spots on my melanoid and wild type), I was told they were iridophores. But given the pattern, I wonder if that is what this is.

Looks like normal coloration on the picture.

Yes they do reflect so it is iridophores.
I also found a similar picture (ish!)

I'm glad to hear that they are iridophores! I'm no expert on axolotls but I was pretty darn sure that was what your little guy had. He looks like one of the axies we have at my workplace.

Also you might see them change as he grows (depending on how old yours is, he looks pretty mature) ; I know mine definitely grew into them; they barely had any as babies but once they hit about a year old they had tons and tons.
