Sick axolotl?....

hi.. my axolotls are having a strange behaviour, they are scratching their gills, and the gills are loosing color, they have also a kind of 'diureia', I (hope I wrote it in the right way) their gills are a lit bit curled to the front... can someone help me out?

I think im correct by saying this but gill curving comes from a water current. your filter is probably too strong. Also how is your water quality? When is the last time you did a water change?

I change my water every week, and the flow is low...

do you have an ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test kit? check these to make sure they are at the right levels. ammonia and nitrite levels should be zero! do you make sure water is dechlorinated before using in the tank with the axie?

Joao, do you change ALL the water, or part of it? How many axolotls do you have? What is the size of the tank? What is the water temperature?

I only have two axolotls, in a 220 l tank, and I have a external filter from 200 up to 450 l tanks, I only change like 20% of the water, the temperature is a little bit difficult to control, I usually have 22ºC maximum sometimes is in 21ºC but in days with extremely hot is up to 23ºC I Know that is a high temperature but what can I do? And other people I know Have axolotls in the same temperature and their fine...
