I'm looking for small, plain glass aquariums. Preferably without any backing, bits on the corner etc.
Does anyone know of a particular brand? I'd really like something 8' square, or 10 x 8 x 8. The smallest I can find is Clearseal no.1.
Also does anywhere know a good online aquarium stockist with good variety and reasonable delivery charges?

Lasher you could try asking your local petshop/aquarists supplies shop if they know anyone who custom makes these. I used to show fish at exhibitions and used very small tanks to show them in. Is that the sort of thing you are looking for?

I have done, they didnt know of anyone who could custom make aquarums, but can order in any size produced by the manufacturers they usualy stock. Of those the smallest is the 12 inch clearseal, slightly larger than I can accomodate.
Problem is I live in a really small flat, and I'd like two small tanks for my Orientalis as they keep fighting nd that would allow me to free up the long tank one of them is in now for some kind of terestial setup to house toads, gecko's or anoles(I wouldnt want to try and cram anymore than that on the living room bookshelves, even with all the re-enforcing on it).
I've seen on a few forums 8 and 10 inch 'cubes', one of those would suffice.
How big were the show tanks you used?

Probably smaller then what you are looking for. I cant remember exactly but they were used to display a single fish depending on its size, the tank sizes were regulated by the FBAS I think.
http://www.fbas.co.uk/ You could try emailing them on the link I have given. Hope this helps.

You can get 12" x 8" x8" from Gloversaquatic.co.uk, or Urmstonaquatics.com for about £11. And Urmston will make tanks to your specs. Unfortunately, you'll have to collect as both are in the North West. Both have a tight fitting plastic lid--handy for stopping escapes.

Have you tried looking for an amateur tank maker on the fish-keeping forums/sites?
