Continuation of this thread http://www.caudata.org/forum/messages/8/79006.html?1172477844
I finally got there on saturday and found well documented nothing except Bombina v. A few weeks ago I also saw some ranid eggs but there is no larvae now. No higher aquatic plants. I`m not frustrated but I think that progress of life diversification was a little bit faster in some ponds we dug years ago.

Is this the same pond you dug in september 2006? I think the effort you take in doing this is great.

Were the ponds you dug years ago inhabited by a big variety in such a short period? The place where I live, you can dig a pond and likely never see anything except for the rare straying frog.

Here is an actual photo of the pond. It looks much better than last year. The bottom is already planted and I found some newt eggs. It could be cristatus, alpestris or vulgaris. I hope it`s vulgaris which is the rarest species in this region.

Seven years later this little hole is still in a well condition. Cristatus and alpestris found there. Not useless job.

Beautiful looking newts, such a shame Great Crested Newts are such a rare sight in the UK. Hopefully we can help them make a come back!

Lovely pond and newts  I love watching the L.Vulgaris, sometimes L.Helveticus and sometimes T. Cristatus in my pond, but I think Alpine Newts are very beautiful.

I resuscitate this old thread again.
Here are recent photos. The pond will need quite a lot of assistance soon. At the moment it"s full of alpine larvae.

I love seeing this! It is great that your efforts have had a great success. I'm looking forward to seeing updates on your little pond for years to come.
