Hi all, just out of curiosity,

I was just wondering what is the size of the smallest adult axolotl you've ever seen, had, or heard of?

Also, how long was the largest adult?

My personal smallest is 6 1/2 inches, my largest is 14. The smaller is leucistic and the larger is wild type, at about the same age of 1 1/2 years. The smallest I've heard has been 5, the largest I've heard of has been 16. It seems to me that wild types are usually larger - my two adult wild types of 1 1/2 years are 13 and 14 respectively.

They vary in size quite a bit.

See now my 2 year old wildtype female and 1.5 year old golden albino male are about 9 inches and my 8 month old leucisitic male is already topping 9 inches and is bulkier the both of the older ones. I have a feeling my leuc Spyro is going to be a beast of an axolotl - He showed he was quite the "he" at about 5 months of age.

The rest of my axolotls are all around 7-9 months of age and vary between 6 and 8 inches.

I had an adult with leg deformities that was just barely 5 inches.
