Hi, I recently found what I thought was a cynops orientalis egg

, but then when I looked closly, I realized it was a tiny snail of somesort.

. How could they have gotten in there with out me putting in or taking out any plants or rocks in the past 2 months? I did have a Large snail in there about 2 weeks ago, but recently took it out, and I once heard somewhere that these snails can reproduce without a parter, is this true? Thank you

Depends on what kind of snail it was. I don't mind snails-I know some people try to get rid of them but too many often tells you you are feeding too much. If they don't have as many leftovers to eat the population will be much smaller.

I had an Apple snail in a 20gal tank with my C. orientalis. They cant breed without another snail of the same species. He/she lived about two months until my fire bellies ganged up on it and killed it

they all took turns taking little bites out of it until its eventual demise. I bought some plants from a aquarium dealer here in Edmonton and with the plants I got some small snails. Well in a matter of two weeks I had 40!!!! and the newts didnt do a darn thing to control them. Wierd, love the big snail and dislike the small ones.

That happened to me ages ago.I put bits of cucumber in and they all start eating it. once there is a lot on take it out.I did that a few times and that got rid of them

Ha Ha, old post. If you want an update: the snails have reprduced slightly, and there is only about 10 of them, they seem to have a nice little family, and it doesn't get out of control. I think my newts are eating the tiny snails. Thanks.
