Illness/Sickness: So strange, please help!

First off hello

I've had two axolotls for over six months. Recently my white one is acting off. His gills turned pale and her tail was bent. So I check and fixed all levels and have been doing 20% water changes daily. His gills became red, but with white puffs. Shortly after he started freaking out spinning and twitching and the puffs floated off. One sides bare but still flicks when breathing. The next morning he had a sort of bumpy face and his eyes seemed sunken in. His tail seems to be slighty tearing ablittlevand moves lethargically He's acting sick but still eats. The other one seems uneffected besides daily floating. Im torn between treating them for fungal or bacterial infection. Please help.

I would treat the fungus first as it can spread quickly but is easily treatable from home. With the fungus clear he should have a better chance at beating whatever else is happening to him. If the others seem fine I would think something's wrong with your axolotl over your water quality, but it's always handy to know your water parameters. It could be contagious so I would be inclined to separate him and put him in cool, fresh, dechlorinated tub of water with 100% daily changes to avoid the potential spreading whatever illness this is. I would book an appointment with the vets since I don't think any of the home remedies work. Please do not add fish medication to his water.

Do you use dechlorinator when you do a water change? Sometimes chlorine can cause axies to be uncomfortable.

Have you actually cycled the tank, i know youve said your readings were a little off, but what are they exactly?
Also what is the temperature of your tank?

What do you feed your lottles?

The 'puffs' sound like fungus so a salt bath would be best if you can still see the fungus.There is a sticky with directions at the top of the threads.

Another option is to add some Indian almond leaves to your tank, they have mild antifungal properties and can help prevent future problems.But these should only be added once you have solved the current problem , it wont just fix whats already going on
