Beautiful photos! Mind labeling the subssp. for us? I really like the platensis though

Was that rattler found while looking for ensatinas? Doesn't look like anything I'm familiar with.

Love the ensatinas Josh! Nice photography too. In which location did all of them originate? Great rattler too, what species?

I believe the rattle snake is a Mottled Rock rattlesnake, Crotalus lepidus?

Awesome pictures of some of my favorite N. American salamanders, those Ensatinas are fantastic! Some of those guys look pretty tiny, any way to give some references on the size as well?

Nice shots, Josh.

If you have high-resolution copies of the photos, you might want to submit a couple of your favorites to the calendar competition (see General Announcements section).

the yellow and red bloched ones are my fav. I hope I can get out west there and find them some day

awesome pictures by the way

Cool and interesting pictures Josh!
Thanks for sharing them!

well thank you everyone! i havnt been on this forum in so long that my membership got cancelled. so im a newbie again. i figured i should share some of my pics cause these salamanders are just out of control cool! jennifer, that is a great idea. what photos do you think i should submit?? i personally like the eschscholtzii and the facial of the xanthoptica (yellow eye) yes, the rattlesnake is a mottled rock rattlesnake (crotalus lepidus klauberi) and it is not found in ensatina habitat. infact, it is not even found in the same state. i just figured it would be a neat photo to include.
