So I just got back from vacation the other day. My girlfriend and I went to Savannah, Georgia. But on the way there we stopped in southern Tennessee for a day and a half. While hiking around I came across some Jordan, blackbellied, and dusky salamanders. I took some pics with my digital, as well as my 35mm slr. I haven't gotten the film developed yet. But, here are some of the ones from my digital. Sorry if they are blurry. Salamander (I think is a dusky) was in whole on a log where a branch was. I went to turn the log before I saw the little guy, he was sticking out of the whole and then backed in. I did manage to get a shot of him peeking out of the whole though.
We also saw some armadillos when we got into South Carolina and Georgia. We did a kayaking tour one day, and we say about 5 or 6 dolphins about 30ft from out boats. I wish I could have had more time in Tennessee to look for some hellbenders, but we had to get on the road.
We also saw a lot of kudzo
. And some hemlock wooly adelgid.
. It is sad to see more and more invasives.
