I went on a camping trip a week or so ago and fed my freshly matured female melanoid Axolotl an hour before I left. I left that Thursday and got home on that Sunday. My feeding schedule for her is every 3-4 days. When I got home I looked in her tank and she seemed fine. I went to pet her head because she usually likes being greeted that way but she didn't even move. Usually she'd rub against my finger more to get petted more. I was a bit worried because she seemed stiff, I tried to nudge her to move a little bit so I could give her the food on the feeding spot, (she was sitting on it) and she didn't move, she just drifted off. Her tail didn't even bend. I began to worry so I tried to pick her up, still she didn't react! (I know you aren't supposed to pick up or touch Axolotls, but I wash my hands with distilled water before hand and make sure they're clean.) I put her down gently and went to get a nightcrawler to see if she'd eat it. I left her overnight and watched her eat the worm slowly from up in my bed. In the morning she was her happy self, coming to see me everyday when I visited her. She seemed like herself... Normal little smiley Marsh!

Did I not feed her for too long? Should I make her feeding schedule shorter? Like every 2 days maybe?

P.S. Apologies if I used the website wrong to ask questions on this topic, I'm still new!

Here's some pictures of her I got today, she seems healthy so far.

IMO, you're overreacting to one event. However, she does look a little on the thin side. Try feeding two to three times a week, once every three days is fine, and feed her as much as she will eat within a ten minute period.

Thank you! I'll take this into consideration :)
