The attached 2007 paper of Ruth Amanda Estupiñán discusses the endemic, conservation and taxonomic status of Bolitoglossa paraensis (still B. altamazonic for some).

It's unfortunately in Portuguese language and this is part of the problem.

I briefly googled after news on B. paraensis and found lots of "not evaluated", "data deficient etc" in threat category and taxonomic lists. Communication between third-world researchers and scientific centers should improve if we do care about conservation issues in tropical areas.

English-only science communication seems not to be a solution, for, up to now, it has only kept non-English speakers researchers virtually unheard.
