While feeding my newts I found a weird worm in their tank. It looks and moves like a caterpillar but it's completely clear with a black head. I think it's about 3 millimeters long and it's very thin. I'm concerned it might be a parasite and I'm hoping someone here will have any experience with it.
These midge larvae look kind of like it but it's thinner and is more clear: http://svalbardinsects.net/assets/images/Chironomid-larvae.jpg

Also, does anyone have any tips on getting newts to eat frozen food? I have one that's very stubborn about it.
