I'm using foam under my tigers hides. When they dump it gets smeared and pushed down into the foam. This is my 1st use, and I'm using conditioned water to thoroughly rinse until I can find a suitable disinfectant. I know not to use bleach or any other chemical that leaves residue. I've got some CHG but it also leaves some sort of residue as its active on skin for some time after applying. I thinking the safest would be salt water, with a complete and thorough rinse of course. Any body have any better ideas please chime in. Thanx to all in advance, I do look forward to any input.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
