Hey everyone,
So having my axolotls grown to about 4.5 inches, and consumed my entire worm farm, I decided to switch them to pellets. They have the same nutritional value as earthworms, and I got them from a local axolotl breeder
They seem to gobble them up with no problems. However, I have noticed after eating a pellet, they sit in one spot and "flick" their gills. I am not sure why they do this, and have never observed this behavior when feeding worms. I understand axolotls occasionally do this to pass water through their gills, but they seem to do it a couple of times after every single pellet they eat. Could this be the sign of a potential problem?
Thank you
