Interesting shots! All my marbled newts eat their shed skin in this manner. Upon occasion the larger individuals even eat the skin of the smaller ones.
Currently my marmoratus are kept aquatic and shedding is done by rubbing against a rocky surface or until something snags the skin and they wriggle free like someone taking out a pantyhose!

Most caudates eat their sheds. I've never been able to observe mine doing it. Good catch!

my tarichas don't eat theirs for some reason. i always have to clean it outta the cage.
