I found a book today showing the range of T.verrucosus in Thailand and was surprised to see the range extending so far east, along the border with Laos. I expected it to be more in the area along the border with Myanmar (from where T.verrucosus are said to flow into Thailand to be reexported), and extending a bit further southwest than shown.
I lived in Thailand for 2 years and have been to that area often, even before then, but it never occurred to me at the time to look for newts there...
