Tail problems

My axolotl seems to be shedding skin on one side of his tail. I don't think it's fungus as its a very faint grey colour and seems to be hanging of a bit, as if the skin has been sloughed off. The skin underneath is normal.
Is this normal for axolotls? Could it be fungus? Ammonia and pH levels fine and changing water to ensure no nitrate build up and is eating fine.
Any ideas?

axolotls shed there skin. its normal.

Mine was shedding it's skin when I first got her. it went away after about 2-3 days. Completely normal/
