Tail up like a scorpion and fungus

Sadly Rosie, the axie I had given to my friend a few months ago, has died.I would like to find out if somebody may have some thoughts on why this may have happened. 3 days before he died, he started walking around with his tail up like a scorpion, and refused to eat.His back legs were on the ground, so only his tail was up. Then the next day he got fungus on his tail. He was floating sometimes too, but not all the time, as he was swimming normally too. And as I said, he died on the 3rd day of his illness. The fungus was nearly gone by then, as he had salt baths twice a day. Does anybody have any idea why he could have died? The tank temperature may have been nearly 24C, so this may have contributed to his death.

My friend is distraught and blaming herself for Rosie's death. Which, of course, it wasn't.

ive seen that 'scorpian' tailing before, but im unsure what causes it, it would be interesting to find out if anyone knows?
