Tank ready?

I have had my axolotl for about a month now and was wondering how much longer I should wait to put it in my 10 gallon tank. It is currently in a small fish tank and I am doing water changes every couple of days using the tank water. The water in the tank is all cycled and ready, I'm just afraid that my axolotl will not be able to fight the filter. It is about 2 1/2 inches long and has all four limbs.
