So this is what I have so far: A 10 gallon tank with an undergravel water pump that creates a gentle current, 3 inches of 60F water, A small island that has moss and a log with some isopods everywhere. And big pieces of gravel that he absolutely cannot fit in his mouth. My water parameters are all ideal.
