I was just wondering what an appropriate size would be for 2 Rough Skinned Newts. I think the tank size that I currently have them in is a 15 or 20 gallon. I think they need a bigger tank but am not sure what size would be suitable and if I could get too big of a tank for them. I did see a really interesting setup for them at a pet store but I think it may be plastic or acrylic. Is this ok for them to be in?

A 20 gallon is just fine for 2 roughskinned newts. Personally, I don't think there's such a thing as 'too big'. After all, there are no glass walls in the wild. Plastic or acrylic may be safe as long as it's suitable for water. Roughskinned newts are primarily aquatic, so any decorations or build-up materials should not leach any chemicals into the water.

Thanks for your help. I didn't think that they couldn't have too large of a tank, but I wanted to be sure the one I had was a suitable size. The ornaments and fake plants are suitable for the tank and don't leach out any chemicals. There is also a java fern in the tank and I recently bought a moss ball for the tank as well.
