Hi all!

I am new to this form, but no stranger to newts. I have been breeding Taricha torosa for some years now and introducing them back into habitats that they have were previously extinct in. This last year was so productive, I was able to re-populate an entire river system in Southern California; thanks to the California Wild Life Fish and Game and especially their Rangers, who really need all the help and support that people in California can give because of their severe lack of funding.

I wanted to share some pictures of one of my breeding tanks which just produced another 65 Taricha torosa.

Enjoy!

Great cause and great work!

I happen to be raising Taricha granulosas up here in Oregon, somewhat similar to the Taricha torosas you have. The pictures you posted look much like my juvies. I am doing this rather by accident (my female laid eggs, so my project is not on your scale or purpose!) . But I do have 18 juveniles. I happen to think Taricha torosas are the most beautiful newts, so I wish you well on your venture!
