Hello!

I need any and all tank temperature help that you have. My roommate keeps turning the air up to 80 when no one is home, which means my room can get up to 82... I have completely blacked out my window and purchased three tank fans and a chiller. Listed:
Zoo Med Aqua Cooling Fan
Petzilla Aquarium Chiller Fan (2 fan blocks)x2
Aquarium Adjustable Thermostat Chiller 72W Heater Fish Tank +160GPH Water Pump

The only way I can get it down enough is if I have two frozen water bottles and replace the evaporated water with chilled fridge water (treated) but I don't think my axie will like the disrupt temp changes and that is also not sustainable throughout the day when I am not home constantly. He is currently at a friend's house in a 10 gal tank and they keep the temp at 65 so he is happy there but I would like to bring him home! Any negotiations with the roommate will not happen (I've tried and tried...) so I am desperate here to find something that works... HELP!

Do a search here on the forum on "cooling," there are LOTS of posts on the topic.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I had done lots of reading in the forum before my post but most people seem to be saying just go for the expensive chillers if you want it to work. Since I've already invested this much money(hoping to find a cheaper option), I was hoping for specifics from other people who have tried similar set-ups. Other people have mentioned much more success with fans than I am having and I'm not sure why...

Since I already have my first chiller, it looks like I just may have to get a second one and attempt to run it through both... not sure what else to do with what I have so far.
