hi there!
does anyone know if terracotta pipes are okay to put in our tank as a hidey hole for our axies? just worried about leaching, etc. If anyone knows - please help us!!

lots of people use terracotta plant pots so i should think the pipes would be fine.
i would just soak it for a while in some old tank water.

Is it a used pipe? If so what was it used for?

got a half pipe from the garden, have washed it up and have it sitting in dechlorinated water, edges might be a bit sharp, which worries me, but i'm gonna try filing them down a bit. i might even pop in to my local hardware store and get a new pipe, just don't like the whole pvc thing, looks bad and don't like plastic in my tank!

If it were me I would get a new one. You can tie Jave Moss to it . It will cover it in time.
