I caught some odd behaviour on film. I think it's The Doctor being territorial about the jar as a hiding space? Bluebell didn't seem to notice....

I should clarify that he swims and is on the bottom normally and was until Bluebell approached and only then did he rear up. He's not suffering from a belly full of sand and an inability to matain his usual position
