The odd red Oregon plethodont (image)

During my a fieldtrip in North Oregon we stumbled upon an amazing red plethodont. The costal groove count and morphology resembles a plethodont vehiculum , but the ground color was totally wrong. This animal has meanwhile been send out for scientific research (rdna analysis) and I must admit we are looking forward to hear the results. So far verybody is quite puzzled...

Wow, this is an old post that I'm glad to see revived! I don't remember seeing this before, and it's an amazing animal.
