My salamander at a nightcrawler two nights ago, he was completely normal and fine then. Last night, I went to feed him again, and immediately noticed he was not interested in food, but was sitting very still in his tank and doing these little spasms in his throat. Looking sort of like a hiccup. He was having these spasms every 20-30 seconds or so, and was not interested in food, but no other symptoms. It was late so I went to bed, and I saw he was heading for a burrow. This morning I found him only half in that burrow, and pulled him out to check on him. He is still having the little spasms, but now seems unable to walk. He just wiggles and sort of marches in place. I've searched around the forums for any analogous descriptions from others but don't see any other than maybe heat stress (it did get up near 80 yesterday, but that's not unusual for this time of year here or new for him to experience). Please looking for any suggestions. I am going to try to take him to a vet today but we're in California and he's a tiger I've had for 12 years who I got in another state and I'm not sure they'll agree to see him given the state laws.
